Class and Show Dress Code
Creative Movement
Our littlest dancers wear a pink or black leotard. This can have a skirt or tutu or not the goal is for them to be comfortable and have fun. They should wear pink tights and pink ballet shoes. Hair should be in a bun if its long enough if not a ponytail is ok.

You can purchase the tights below on amazon. Our studio uses Bloch adaptatoe PINK tights. There are many colors of pink. We use the color called PINK.
DC Dance AZ Ballet classes
All of our ballet classes including Rec, Primary and Company have the same dress code. Students must be in this dress code at all times. Please wear a black leotard with NO SKIRT, pink Bloch adaptatoe convertible tights and block pink leather full sole ballet shoes.
HAIR: Hair MUST be in a slicked back bun using a hairnet and bobby pins.

The tights can be purchased below on Amazon, at Barry's Dance Theater Shop or www.disountdance.com. *Please note that Dee's does NOT carry the tights our studio uses. Ordering a size up in the tights is a good idea as it makes them more stretchy and comfortable.
DC Dance AZ Jazz class
All of our Jazz classes have the same dress code. Students wear a black leotard, black leggings and black Jazz shoes.
Jazz shoes can be purchased at Dee's Dancewear, Barry's Dance Theater Shop or Amazon. We recommend buying the shoes from a store where you can try them on as the sizes are not usually the same as street shoes. If your dancer is also taking ballet they can stay in their pink tights and do not need the black leggings.

DC Dance AZ Tap class
All of our Tap classes have the same dress code. Students wear a black leotard, black leggings and black Tap shoes. Please purchase SLIP ON black leather tap shoes. NOT shiny patent leather and NO ties or ribbons!
(* the only exception to this is our Creative Movement tap class for toddlers and preschoolers, the slip on tap shoes do not come small enough for children of this age so they can purchase any kind of black tap shoe.)

HIP HOP Class
Our Hip Hop dancers wear sneakers, leggings, and a tank top or t-shirt. We do not allow booty shorts or crop tops of any kind. Hair should be pulled back in a pony tail, braid, or bun.
Tumbling or ACRO class
Our tumbling students can wear a leotard, leggings,or tumbling tank top. They should be barefoot and hair must be up in a pony tail or bun is hair is very long. We do not allow booty shorts or crop tops of any kind.
Pom skills and pom prep classes
Our Pom class students wear a black leotard, black leggings, and black Jazz shoes. Hair should be in a slicked back bun with hair net and bobby pins
PERformance Hair
Our show hairstyle is a slicked back, gelled and hairsprayed bun secured with a hairnet that matches the dancers hair color and bobby pins that match their hair color as well.

Performance TIGHts and nude Camisole leotards
All dancers performing in ANY DC Dance AZ Performance must have a nude/tan camisole leotard and nude/tan tights. This is worn at all times under all costumes. This is for your child's protection and modesty when changing costumes at theaters and rehearsals. The tan camisole leotards can be purchased at Dee's Dancewear, Barry's Dance Theater Shop, Amazon, or www.discountdance.com. WE USE ONLY BLOCH ADAPTATOE TAN TIGHTS. DO NOT PURCHASE other tan/nude tights. The tan colors are not consistent and dancers must match on stage.

All Ballet dancers MUST be wearing a new non ripped or snagged pair of Bloch Pink adaptatoe tights to perform on stage. Links to the correct tights are above in the ballet section.
In many of our Jazz performance numbers dancers wear black fishnet tights. These MUST be ONLY Capezio black PROFESSIONAL fishnets. This is the only kind that do not rip easily and will hold up to repeated costume changes during rehearsal. They also look different on stage than other brands. Make sure your dancer has the correct kind so you don't have to repurchase the right ones.
